Apache-2.0 platform for running coding agents as teams

AI Agents / Orchestration · Apache-2.0 · 2k

What's Good

Apache-2.0 (GoogleCloudPlatform/scion), very active. Each agent can get a shared workspace or its own git worktree or clone, so parallel agents don't trample each other's files. scion start, attach, message, logs and resume manage agents running in tmux sessions. It starts on your laptop and can move to a hosted Hub on Kubernetes or Cloud Run, and an A2A bridge plus MCP configuration connect it to other agent systems. Installs with a community Homebrew tap. ★~1.9k.

The Catch

It needs a container runtime: Podman, Docker or Apple Container (Kubernetes or Cloud Run for hosted runs). There are no GitHub releases yet, only preview tags such as v0.3.0-preview.3, and the README warns that the project is evolving rapidly and APIs and configuration may change. It is from a Google Cloud repo but, in its own words, not an officially supported Google product. Every agent still runs on your own model keys and their token costs.

Verdict

The most complete open setup for trying agent teams today — pin a preview tag and expect your config to change.
