The mental model is delightfully simple: define agents with roles, goals, and backstories, then let them work together on tasks. The role-playing paradigm sounds gimmicky but actually works—agents with defined personas produce more consistent outputs.
The Catch
The simplicity cuts both ways. Complex inter-agent communication patterns require workarounds, and you are locked into CrewAI execution model.
Verdict
Best DX for multi-agent systems if you embrace the paradigm.
