What's Good
MIT (hugohe3/ppt-master), release v6.7.0 (2026-10-08). Output is native DrawingML: shapes, editable charts and tables, and real slide masters when you start from your own .pptx template. Can also refill an existing deck while keeping its design and add transitions, animations and narration from speaker notes. Install by cloning, via `npx skills add hugohe3/ppt-master`, or as a Claude Code plugin; needs Python 3.10+ and `pip install -r requirements.txt`. Everything except the model calls runs on your machine. Example decks are browsable online. ★~60k, most of it gained since the repo was created in December 2025.
The Catch
The author says it outright: the model sets the ceiling and you will not get a finished deck in one shot — the recommendation is a long-context frontier model plus a paid image model, and cheaper models leave more cleanup. Long decks burn a lot of tokens on your own key. The README leads with sponsor blocks for third-party API relay resellers selling Claude/GPT/Gemini access "at a fraction of official rates"; use official provider keys. No SmartArt, by design. Vs hyperframes (HTML to video): this is for decks people will edit in PowerPoint.
Verdict
The best free way to get an agent to produce PowerPoint people can actually edit — bring a strong model and skip the relay sponsors.
