What's Good
MIT (excid3/noticed), release v3.1.0 (2026-09-30), maintained since 2020. Supports both individual deliveries (each recipient gets their own notification) and bulk deliveries (for example one Slack message). Delivery methods run as background jobs, and notifications are stored as database records. ★~2.7k.
The Catch
Rails only. Upgrading from version 1 to 2 or later required a data migration. For many channels and preferences across languages, a dedicated service like Novu may fit better.
Verdict
The go-to notification layer for Rails apps.
