What's Good
Hosted sandboxes optimized for agent code execution and long-running state (snapshots, previews, computer use). Official clients at daytona/clients (Python/TS/Go/…). Integrates with common agent frameworks. Faster path than rolling your own Firecracker fleet.
The Catch
Vs E2B (Firecracker sandboxes): Daytona pitches fuller stateful dev/env computers; both are hosted-by-default infra. daytonaio/daytona public core stopped updates June 2026 (private codebase) — treat product as freemium SaaS; Nightona is the community AGPL fork if you need self-host OSS. Clients repo ≠ full platform source.
Verdict
Freemium agent sandbox cloud. Compare E2B; self-host via Nightona not upstream.
