MIT core (CopilotKit/CopilotKit). React/Next first-class; Angular, Vue, React Native, Slack/Teams channels. Wire LangGraph, Mastra, Google ADK, Strands, OpenAI Agents SDK, and more. MCP client paths and MCP Apps. Docs at docs.copilotkit.ai. Self-host the OSS framework; Cloud Developer is a real free-forever single-dev tier with published caps.
The Catch
Vs Vercel AI SDK (primitives) and Mastra/LangGraph (backend agent runtimes): CopilotKit is the user-facing agent UI/protocol layer, not the orchestration brain. Pro/Team Cloud and VPC are paid when you outgrow Developer free forever. Self-host keeps the MIT path.
Verdict
MIT agent UI layer. Self-host free; Cloud Developer free forever is real but capped.
