What's Good
Apache-2.0. Official successor to archived conduwuit. Maintained Matrix homeserver you self-host. Federation-capable without Synapse Java weight.
The Catch
Official conduwuit successor — Conduit is still beta, so pick one of the two. Matrix homeserver slot, not a generic WS product. Distinct from LiveKit/Soketi-style realtime.
Verdict
Apache-2.0 Matrix homeserver. Maintained successor; skip beta Conduit dual-keep.
