What's Good
MIT (tsl0922/ttyd), commits into August 2026. CJK and IME input, ZMODEM and trzsz file transfer, Sixel images, SSL and basic auth. Runs on macOS, Linux, FreeBSD, OpenWrt and Windows, and is easy to install through Homebrew or a single binary. ★~12.5k.
The Catch
The last tagged release is 1.7.7 from March 2024, though the repo still gets commits. Exposing a shell on the web is risky: put it behind real auth and TLS, not just basic auth.
Verdict
The simplest way to put a terminal in a browser tab.
