What's Good
MIT. Self-host the commerce OS: products, carts, orders, regions, modules. Pitch is OSS on your infra. Cloud exists and starts From $29/mo (Develop) — verified on medusajs.com/pricing. No GMV tax on the pricing page.
The Catch
Commerce OS, not invoices and not card rails. Cloud From $29/mo is not a $0 hobby hatch — self-host is the free path. Distinct from Polar/Hyperswitch (payments) and from Lago (metering).
Verdict
MIT commerce OS. Self-host is free; Cloud starts at $29/mo.
