CC0-1.0 (public domain dedication). justfile recipes with clear errors, args, .env loading, modules. Not a build graph — a command runner. Cross-platform binary, huge community.
The Catch
Modern Makefile replacement; not Taskfile. No implicit build DAG like Make. You still pick how CI invokes recipes. Distinct from package.json scripts if the repo is polyglot.
Verdict
CC0 command runner. Free forever.
