What's Good
First-party Storefront API components handle cart, checkout, and product data. Oxygen hosting is tightly integrated. The Shopify CLI scaffolds projects with working commerce features.
The Catch
You are locked into Shopify architectural choices. Customization beyond their patterns requires deeper knowledge. Oxygen hosting limits deployment options.
Verdict
The official path for Shopify headless—for better and worse.
