Goose runs locally on your machine, written in Rust for performance. MCP is a first-class citizen, not an afterthought—tools connect via the protocol natively. Part of the Linux Foundation AI and Data Foundation (AAIF), giving it institutional backing without corporate lock-in. Bring your own model provider.
The Catch
General-purpose agent means you configure it for your use case. You bring the model—Goose is the runtime, not the intelligence. Documentation is still maturing.
