What's Good

MIT (GLips/Figma-Context-MCP). npm `figma-developer-mcp` (HTTP 200). MCP server aimed at Cursor/Claude-class coding agents that need frames, layout, and design tokens from Figma — not another design SaaS seat.

The Catch

Vs Figma (design tool) / playwright-mcp / chrome-devtools-mcp: Figma is the collaborative canvas; Playwright/DevTools are browser automation — this catch is Figma file context into the coding agent via MCP. Needs a Figma API key; design-file access and rate limits are the real gate, not the MIT license.

Verdict

MIT Figma-layout MCP when agents implement UI from real files — not Figma-the-product and not browser MCPs; bring an API key.
