What's Good

Apache-2.0. aristocratos/btop (C++ successor to bashtop/bpytop). Game-inspired menus, mouse support, process filter/tree, themes, battery, and optional GPU stats. Single binary resource monitor for the box you are SSH’d into. Source github.com/aristocratos/btop.

The Catch

Vs Grafana/Prometheus (fleet metrics + dashboards): btop is *local host* TUI, not a scrape/store/alert stack. Pick it over bottom, the Rust twin. Not a remote multi-node observability product.

Verdict

Apache-2.0 host resource TUI. Free forever; use when the machine in front of you is the thing to watch.
