The session format is the lock-in

Skillsync / txcript / HN 49743049: session format choice locks agent replay, handoff, and audit.

Skillsync’s txcript thread (HN 49743049; github.com/skillsynchq/txcript illustrative) is not “another transcript tool.” It is a reminder that the *session format* — what gets recorded, how turns are addressed, which artifacts stay attachable — becomes the lock-in for replay, handoff, and later audit. Swap the model; keep the wrong session shape and you still cannot reconstruct the case.

Operators already pay rewrite and handoff taxes when agents treat files as batches and drop evidence at boundaries. A sticky session format makes those taxes structural: every downstream tool assumes the same turn schema, attribution rules, and attachment contract. Choose the format like you choose a database — for recovery and review, not for chat aesthetics.
