The agent should mint panes, not only chat

Panel workbench itch: agents need pane and workbench surfaces beyond chat when work is parallel, durable, and inspectable.

The Panel itch is the operator wanting a workbench: panes for tasks, artifacts, approvals, logs, and live state instead of one long chat transcript. That itch is real when several agent runs need to stay visible at once. The question is bigger than whether one product can draw a better dashboard.

Agents need to mint panes, not only chat. A pane is a durable surface with a job: show the diff, keep the approval queue, expose the process, hold the artifact, or let a human resume the work without replaying the whole conversation. Chat can start the task; it is a poor control plane for parallel work that must remain inspectable after the turn ends.
