## The Hook

Zeron is a local-first control plane for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Devin, Grok, Pi, and friends — drive sessions from a sidebar, keep an always-on box working, sync devices only when you opt in.

## What's Good

MIT (zeronsh/zeron). Default local-only mode: no account, no network required. Per-device engine stores sessions on that machine; optional login for multi-device sync and remote drive. Linux curl installer + daemon; macOS desktop; Windows setup.exe. Follow/drive agents across devices when a VPS stays up.

## The Catch

Vs Paperclip / Herdr: Paperclip is org Board/budget governance; Herdr is the terminal multiplexer runtime — Zeron’s catch is cross-device session control UI/daemon, not budgets and not pane tiling. Synced devices trust each other with workspace file access (including gitignored files if enabled) — only sign in machines you trust. Sync does not migrate old local sessions automatically.

## Verdict

MIT agent control plane when you want local-first multi-device drive of host agents — not Paperclip governance, not Herdr panes; treat sync as full workspace trust.
