## What's Good

GPL-3.0 (LICENSE-GPL). Native macOS, Linux, and Windows. Multiplayer editing, language servers, first-party agent features in the editor. Download from zed.dev/download or a package manager.

## The Catch

GPL-3.0 is copyleft, not MIT. Hosted agent features that talk to Zed's models are a product on top of the editor — this review does not invent a Cloud free tier. Web is not shipped.
