## The Hook

Wrangler is the local CLI when your edge runtime is Cloudflare Workers and you want deploy/dev/tail without clicking the dashboard.

## What's Good

MIT OR Apache-2.0 (`wrangler` in cloudflare/workers-sdk). `wrangler dev`, deploy, secrets, types, and local workflows against Workers. Cloudflare Workers Free plan includes 100,000 requests/day and 10ms CPU per invocation (per developers.cloudflare.com/workers/platform/pricing) — a real free tier to start.

## The Catch

Tied to Cloudflare’s platform: Free → Standard paid usage when you exceed quotas. Not a generic Node host and not Docker-on-VPS. Local emulation is good, production semantics still Cloudflare’s. Account + API token required to ship.

## Verdict

Workers CLI with a real Free plan. Free to develop; pay Cloudflare when traffic or CPU leaves the free envelope.
