## The Hook

Versus Incident is an incident and on-call platform you run yourself: an AI SRE agent learns what normal looks like in your logs, metrics, traces and Kubernetes cluster and opens an incident when something new appears, and any tool that can POST a webhook can raise one too.

## What's Good

MIT (VersusControl/versus-incident), release v1.4.31 (2026-10-17). The agent has training, shadow and detect modes, so you can watch what it would have flagged before it sends a single alert, and in detect mode it writes a summary, severity and suggested next steps for each incident. Webhooks arrive from Alertmanager, Grafana, Sentry, CloudWatch SNS or FluentBit and go out through your own Go templates to Slack, Microsoft Teams, Telegram, Viber, email or Lark, with on-call escalation through PagerDuty, Opsgenie, incident.io or ServiceNow. YAML config, a Docker quick start and a Kubernetes dashboard are included. ★~875.

## The Catch

It is a full platform you deploy and operate, not just an investigation assistant like HolmesGPT. Auto-detection only works once the agent can read your logs, metrics and traces, and it needs Redis to remember where it left off. Incident history storage is file-only today; the redis and database options are not implemented yet. A small project with a modest community, so expect to read the source when something breaks.

## Verdict

A self-hosted alert router with an anomaly-spotting agent on top — start it in shadow mode before you trust it.
