## The Hook

Valibot is schema validation when Zod’s weight at the edge is the thing you are trying to delete.

## What's Good

MIT. fabian-hiller/valibot (open-circle). Modular per-schema imports, TypeScript inference, parse/safeParse-shaped API. Docs at valibot.dev aim at small runtime cost for forms, APIs, and edge. Source github.com/fabian-hiller/valibot.

## The Catch

Vs Zod (de-facto TS schema): Valibot wins on *modular/tree-shakeable bundle size*; Zod wins on ecosystem gravity (tRPC/forms/examples assume Zod). Migrating is real work — action APIs and helpers differ. Not a form UI and not an API gateway.

## Verdict

MIT tiny TS schemas. Free library; choose Valibot for bytes, Zod for ecosystem defaults.
