## The Hook

Uptime Kuma is the self-host uptime + status page stack when Datadog-class APM is the wrong bill for HTTP checks.

## What's Good

MIT. Docker-friendly (commonly on port 3001), monitors, notifications, public status pages. Zero SaaS lock-in for basic uptime.

## The Catch

Self-host uptime + status pages — not Datadog/APM. You run the container, backups, and alerting path. HTTP/TCP checks are the lane, not full distributed tracing.

## Verdict
