## The Hook

Terraform MCP Server is HashiCorp's official MCP server: it gives agents Terraform Registry provider and module docs, plus HCP Terraform workspaces.

## What's Good

MPL-2.0 (hashicorp/terraform-mcp-server), release v1.3.0 (2026-08-26), commit on 2026-10-19. ★~1.6k (~19 a week). Useful when your agent writes Terraform and keeps guessing provider arguments; it can look up the current docs instead.

## The Catch

MPL-2.0 is weak copyleft: changes you make to its files have to stay open. Registry docs work without an account, but workspace actions need an HCP Terraform token.
