## What's Good

Apache-2.0 (strands-agents/harness-sdk). `pip install strands-agents` / `npm install @strands-agents/sdk`. Model-driven loops with tools, hooks, conversation managers, structured output, MCP clients, and an optional docs MCP server (`uvx strands-agents-mcp-server`). Defaults lean Bedrock but providers include Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, Ollama, and more. Docs at strandsagents.com.

## The Catch

Vs Agno / OpenAI Agents SDK / Microsoft Agent Framework: Strands is AWS-born harness with Bedrock gravity, not a coding CLI and not a React copilot UI. Bedrock/AgentCore paths meter when you leave local/BYO. Bring your own model spend either way.
