## The Hook

SST is the AWS toolkit that makes Lambda feel like a local server.

## What's Good

MIT. Components for functions, queues, databases, and frontends on AWS. sst dev tails live cloud resources. Ion rewrite is the current line. You keep the AWS account.

## The Catch

AWS-shaped. Other clouds are not the happy path. You still pay AWS. The Ion/v3 cut left a trail of outdated v2 tutorials — read current sst.dev docs.

## Verdict

MIT IaC for AWS. Live dev is the feature; the bill is still Amazon.
