## The Hook

Spec Kit is GitHub’s Spec-Driven Development toolkit — define what to build before the agent writes code, with any coding agent.

## What's Good

MIT (github/spec-kit). Ready-to-use SDD process (or bring your own): specs, plans, and agent-friendly artifacts so coding agents implement against intent instead of vibes. Docs at github.github.io/spec-kit. Agent-agnostic — Claude Code, Codex, Copilot, and friends. Org-extensible and community-driven.

## The Catch

Vs Claude Code / Codex / OpenHands (coding agents): Spec Kit is the SDD workflow primitive — process and toolkit, not a coding agent seat. You still bring the agent, models, and repo discipline. GitHub org project, not a hosted product SLA.

## Verdict

MIT SDD toolkit. Specs before code; not a coding agent itself.
