## The Hook

Sentry MCP is Sentry's official MCP server: your coding agent can pull Sentry issues, traces and Seer analysis without leaving the editor. It runs mainly as a remote service at mcp.sentry.dev, with a local stdio mode via `npx @sentry/mcp-server`.

## What's Good

Lives in getsentry/toolkit (formerly getsentry/sentry-mcp), next to the Sentry CLI; npm @sentry/mcp-server 0.42.0. ★~930. Useful when you already use Sentry and want the agent fixing a bug to read the real stack trace and issue history.

## The Catch

License first: FSL-1.1-Apache-2.0 is source-available, not OSI open source. You can use and self-host it for anything except a competing product, and each version becomes Apache-2.0 two years after release. The local stdio mode for self-hosted Sentry is still a work in progress, and Seer is left out for self-hosted. This is the agent connector; the Sentry gem covers the error-tracking product itself.

## Verdict

If your errors live in Sentry, this is the cleanest way to hand them to your agent.
