## The Hook

SeaORM is an async, dynamic ORM for Rust built on SQLx: model entities and relations (1-1, 1-N, M-N, self-referential), then filter, paginate and nest queries for REST, GraphQL and gRPC APIs.

## What's Good

Apache-2.0 (SeaQL/sea-orm), release 2.0.4 (2026-09-27). Supports Postgres, MySQL and SQLite, has a CLI that generates entities from an existing schema, migrations, and examples for Actix, Axum, Rocket, Poem, Loco and GraphQL. The project reports 250k+ weekly downloads. ★~9.9k.

## The Catch

Default features do not enable TLS; you have to pick a TLS backend through SQLx features, which trips people up. The 2.0 release changed APIs, so older tutorials may not compile. Diesel is the main alternative if you prefer compile-time query checking over a dynamic query builder.

## Verdict

The most approachable async ORM in Rust — mind the TLS feature flags.
