## The Hook

Parseable is an open-source observability data lake: send logs, metrics and traces through common agents, OpenTelemetry or Kafka, and get alerting, dashboards, anomaly detection, APM, PromQL and SQL from one binary over object storage.

## What's Good

AGPL-3.0 (parseablehq/parseable), release v3.2.5 (2026-10-09), written in Rust. Stateless compute over object storage lets storage and compute scale independently, and data is kept in columnar format. Ingestion supports popular log shippers, OpenTelemetry, Kafka and eBPF. ★~2.6k.

## The Catch

AGPL-3.0, and some features are in the commercial Parseable Pro/Enterprise. Smaller ecosystem than Loki or OpenSearch, so fewer ready-made dashboards and integrations. Benchmarks on the site are the vendor's own.

## Verdict

A neat object-storage-first log platform — try it if Elasticsearch costs too much.
