## The Hook

Oxlint is the dedicated JS/TS linter when ESLint’s dependency tree and CI minutes are the tax, not the rules.

## What's Good

MIT (oxc-project/oxc / VoidZero). Native Rust linter with large built-in rule coverage (ESLint/TS/React/Jest/Vitest/Import/Unicorn/a11y-shaped sets per oxc.rs), `--fix`, migrate helpers, and type-aware linting paths. `pnpm add -D oxlint` — free forever.

## The Catch

Vs Biome (formatter+linter toolchain): Oxlint is the *linter* product (Oxfmt/Vite+ are separate). Some ESLint plugin edge cases still push hybrid setups. JS plugins called alpha on the docs. Not a bundler. It is part of the Oxc project, the Rust JavaScript toolchain whose parser it runs on (see Oxc below).

## Verdict

MIT JS/TS linter. Free forever when you want ESLint-shaped signal without ESLint-shaped CI time.
