## The Hook

OneSignal is the push/email/in-app suite when Knock is workflow-orchestration-first and ntfy is self-host curl.

## What's Good

Push (mobile+web), in-app, email, Journeys. Free still useful for small apps: web push (10k/send), 10k emails/mo, mobile push/in-app under the Free MAU cap. Mature SDKs and dashboard.

## The Catch

Closed SaaS. LOUD (2026): Free mobile push/in-app limited to 1,000 MAU (new orgs Sep 1, existing Oct 1) — overage pauses mobile until Growth (from about $19/mo + per-MAU). Not Novu/Knock twins. SMS/RCS extra.

## Verdict

Messaging SaaS. Free for tiny MAU; Growth meters mobile hard after 1k.
