## The Hook

Meteroid is an open-source billing platform for SaaS, infra and AI products: meter customer usage through an API, define plans and pricing, and generate invoices from what was actually used.

## What's Good

AGPL-3.0 (meteroid-oss/meteroid), release v1.0.0-rc7 (2026-08-24). Built for usage-based and product-led pricing models. Self-host it, or use a free workspace on Meteroid Cloud with no credit card. ★~1.3k.

## The Catch

Still on release candidates before 1.0, so expect changes. AGPL matters if you modify and host it for others. Billing is high-stakes; compare it with Lago or Kill Bill before you commit.

## Verdict

A promising self-hostable option for metered SaaS billing.
