## The Hook

MCPJam is the MCP developer bench: chat, inspect, OAuth-debug, and eval servers the way real clients will call them.

## What's Good

Apache-2.0 core (MCPJam/inspector) with CLI/SDK/inspector packages (`@mcpjam/inspector`). Local and hosted (app.mcpjam.com) paths for tool inspection, cross-client behavior checks, and CI-shaped gates. Docs at docs.mcpjam.com. ★~2.2k — the productized MCP test harness beyond a one-off poke UI.

## The Catch

Vs MCP Inspector (official MIT debugger): MCPJam is the broader test/eval platform with hosted gravity, not only the reference inspector. Some `/server/services` and evals paths are separately licensed proprietary portions — treat the free OSS inspector path as the bar, not every hosted feature.

## Verdict

Apache-2.0 MCP test platform. Use for real-client MCP debugging/evals; watch the proprietary evals carve-out.
