## The Hook

Kilo is the OSS agentic engineering platform — VS Code, JetBrains, and CLI — not another terminal-only OpenCode clone.

## What's Good

MIT. IDE+CLI+platform: Architect/Coder/Debugger modes, inline autocomplete, terminal/browser control, MCP marketplace, 500+ models with mid-task switch, BYOK or zero-markup gateway. Active Cline/Roo-lineage after Roo sunset — migration path for Roo rules/MCP. Anaconda acquisition (2026) left the OSS client MIT.

## The Catch

Pitch IDE+platform, not “another OpenCode.” Gateway/account is convenience; BYOK stays. Marketplace and modes are the differentiator vs plain CLI harnesses. Enterprise governance rides Anaconda — evaluate if that middle layer matters for your org.

## Verdict

MIT IDE+CLI agent with MCP marketplace. Roo’s active heir, not a second OpenCode.
