## The Hook

Kestra is declarative workflow orchestration when you want YAML flows, a UI, and plugins instead of Airflow glue.

## What's Good

Apache-2.0. Event/schedule/API triggers, language-agnostic tasks, large plugin catalog, self-host via Docker/K8s. OSS includes the core orchestration engine with unlimited flows/executions.

## The Catch

Vs Temporal (durable execution): Kestra is orchestration/control-plane UX, not a workflow SDK. Enterprise adds SSO/RBAC/audit/multi-tenant — contact sales, no public seat price. Cloud is usage/early-access, also sales-shaped. Self-host ops still yours.

## Verdict

Apache-2.0 orchestrator. Free forever OSS core; EE/Cloud when governance is the product.
