## The Hook

Jev Review is a local stdio MCP that feeds Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and OpenCode structured quality scores while they implement — no hosted review backend.

## What's Good

MIT plugin (NiazMorshed2007/jev-review). One focused `jev_review` tool returns typed dimension scores (correctness, complexity, changeability, modularity, tests, security, …) with confidence and delta vs a prior eval. API key stays on your machine; only direct calls go to the configured Jev API. Install via `npx plugins add` for major coding agents.

## The Catch

Scoring depends on a paid/early-access TypeSafe Jev API key — the MCP is OSS, the brain is not (same family as typesafe-computer-use). Vs CodeRabbit/PR bots: this is an in-loop agent checkpoint, not a GitHub review bot. Jev returns scores, not prose root-cause essays — the coding agent still has to diagnose.

## Verdict

MIT MCP wrapper over paid Jev. Use for continuous in-agent quality signals when you already have a TypeSafe key.
