## The Hook

Huginn lets you build agents on your own server that read the web, watch for events and act on your behalf, wired together as a graph. Think of it as a hackable, self-hosted IFTTT or Zapier.

## What's Good

MIT (huginn/huginn), release v2026.10.14 (2026-10-13), around since 2013 and still actively maintained. Agents scrape sites, watch RSS feeds, IMAP mailboxes, webhooks and MQTT topics, then send emails or messages or call APIs. Your data stays on your server. ★~50.1k.

## The Catch

These are rule-based agents, not LLM agents. It is a Rails app with a dated UI, and building multi-step flows takes some JSON configuration. n8n or Node-RED feel more modern for visual workflows.

## Verdict

Still the classic for self-hosted web watching and alerting.
