Hatchet is durable workflow/agent orchestration on the Postgres you already run when Temporal is the heavier cluster.

## What's Good

MIT engine. Queues, retries, durable workflows, DAG-ish pipelines, Python/TS/Go/Ruby SDKs. Hatchet Lite single image for low throughput; Compose + RabbitMQ for prod. Cloud: first 100k task runs/mo free (Developer).

## The Catch

Vs Temporal/Inngest/Trigger.dev: Postgres-backed durable tasks + agent runs — not Temporal’s own cluster story, not Inngest/Trigger event-function DX alone. Cloud paid past free run allotment. Self-host is $0 software.

## Verdict

MIT durable tasks on Postgres. Cloud free tier real; self-host forever.
