## The Hook

HarnessRouter Community Edition is a self-hosted Apache-2.0 control plane that turns existing harnesses (Codex, Claude Code, Hermes, PI, DSH, …) into plug-and-play backends behind one OpenAI Responses-compatible API.

## What's Good

Apache-2.0 CE (HarnessRouter/harnessrouter). Implements Unified Harness Protocol (UHP): sessions, streaming, files, artifacts, cancellation, structured failures. One `docker run` path with your provider keys; Console analytics pipeline disabled in CE. Reference implementation + conformance suite in-repo.

## The Catch

Vs DeerFlow and DeepSeek Harness: this is a harness router/API layer over other CLIs, not a full SuperAgent product or a Cordis plugin harness itself. ~4 GB Docker disk and first-launch CLI installs; Starter Kits use separate licensing from CE; managed Cloud is optional paid path — free bar is self-host CE with your keys.

## Verdict

Apache CE harness router when your product needs one API over many coding harnesses on your own infra; skip if you only run a single harness directly.
