## The Hook

Google ADK is the code-first toolkit to build, evaluate, and deploy agents — software-dev shaped, not prompt-paste.

## What's Good

Apache-2.0. Primary Python line (`pip install google-adk`, google/adk-python); docs at adk.dev. Multi-agent orchestration, tools, eval, local run and deploy targets. Also TS/Go/Java siblings. Model-agnostic enough to run off-GCP; Gemini/Vertex paths are first-class when you want them.

## The Catch

Vs Gemini CLI / Antigravity CLI (terminal coding agents), CrewAI/LangGraph/Agno (orchestration frameworks), and Daytona/E2B (sandboxes): ADK is the Google build/eval/deploy kit, not a coding CLI and not a sandbox fleet. Vertex/GCP gravity is real for enterprise deploy; OSS still runs without a Google Cloud bill if you stay local/BYO.

## Verdict

Apache-2.0 Google agent kit. Code-first build/eval/deploy; Vertex optional, not mandatory.
