## The Hook

git-cliff writes changelogs from git history when Conventional Commits are already the contract and Release Please is the heavier bot.

## What's Good

## The Catch

Vs changesets / release-please (monorepo version+PR bots) and hand-edited CHANGELOG.md: git-cliff is a *generator from history*, not a publish orchestrator. Garbage commits in, garbage sections out — you still need commit discipline and a template you trust.
