## The Hook

gemini-notebook-mcp-cli gives agents and shells programmatic access to Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM) via `nlm` CLI and an MCP server — install once, connect many tools.

## What's Good

MIT (jacob-bd/gemini-notebook-mcp-cli). Free via `uv tool install notebooklm-mcp-cli` (PyPI package ships CLI + MCP). `nlm login` uses Google account sign-in for the NotebookLM product; `nlm setup` wires detected AI tools and optional skill packs. Consumer accounts are the tested path; ★6,179 treated as real OK.

## The Catch

Vs google-workspace-cli (`gws`): that is first-party Drive/Gmail/Calendar/Admin Workspace CLI+skills; this is NotebookLM/Gemini Notebook notebooks via MCP/CLI. Undocumented internal APIs that can change, plus cookie extraction from the browser for auth — personal/experimental risk, not a paid CLI wall. Enterprise Notebook host support is experimental.
