## The Hook

Forgejo is the governance-first Gitea soft-fork when you want self-hosted git without the corporate fork drama.

## What's Good

GPLv3+. Issues, PRs, Actions-compatible runners, package registries, Codeberg runs it in public.

## The Catch

Self-host ops (or use Codeberg). Not GitHub feature-parity; Actions ecosystem is thinner.

## Verdict

GPLv3+ self-hosted forge. Free forever; Codeberg if you do not want to run the box.
