## The Hook

EnTT is a tiny, header-only C++ library best known for its fast entity component system, plus signals, a service locator, resource management and other building blocks for games and simulations.

## What's Good

MIT (skypjack/entt), release v4.0.0 (2026-07-23), developed since 2017. The README lists Minecraft (Mojang), Esri's ArcGIS Runtime SDKs and Ragdoll among its users. Sparse-set storage gives fast iteration and component add/remove, and the library adds views, groups, an event dispatcher, delegates, a meta/reflection system and a scheduler. Extensive wiki documentation. ★~13.2k.

## The Catch

Modern C++ (C++17 and up) template-heavy code means long compile times and dense error messages. v4.0.0 brought breaking changes from the 3.x line. It is a toolkit, not an engine: rendering, physics and editors are up to you. Largely a one-maintainer project.

## Verdict

The ECS most C++ engines reach for — powerful, but bring template patience.
