## The Hook

ECC is an agent-harness performance layer — skills, instincts, memory, security, and research-first workflows across Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Cursor, and friends.

## What's Good

MIT (affaan-m/ECC). Ecosystem/coordination surface for coding agents: skills packs, memory/instincts, security helpers, research-first development patterns. Site at ecc.tools; viral adoption (~260k★). Aimed at teams already living inside agent CLIs who want a shared optimization layer.

## The Catch

Still depends on host agents (Claude Code / Codex / Cursor / etc.) — ECC coordinates and tunes the harness; it is not a replacement coding agent. Vs OpenSpec (spec-driven change tooling) and Thurbox (tmux multi-agent TUI): ECC is the skills/memory/security ecosystem pack, not a spec framework and not a pane orchestrator.

## Verdict

MIT agent coordination ecosystem. Skills+memory+security on top of host agents — not a host itself.
