## The Hook

Dokploy is a free, self-hostable Platform as a Service — an open alternative to Vercel, Netlify and Heroku — for deploying apps, databases and Docker Compose stacks on your own servers.

## What's Good

Release v0.30.8 (2026-09-29). Deploys Node.js, PHP, Python, Go, Ruby and more, plus managed MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MariaDB, libsql and Redis with automated backups to external storage. Traefik routing, Docker Swarm for multi-node, one-click templates, per-resource monitoring, log and metric shipping to Grafana, Datadog and others, a CLI and API, and deploy notifications. ★~37.8k.

## The Catch

Check the license before you depend on it: code outside the /proprietary directory is Apache-2.0, but anything in /proprietary is under the Dokploy Source Available License, which requires a commercial agreement for production use. Stars have grown fast (about 290 a week since 2024) for a real, widely used project. Still 0.x, and you run Docker Swarm underneath.

## Verdict

A strong Coolify alternative — read the license split, then enjoy the Vercel-like flow on your own VPS.
