## The Hook

django-allauth is an integrated set of Django apps for authentication, registration, account management and third-party (social) login, plus multi-factor authentication.

## What's Good

MIT (pennersr/django-allauth), maintained since 2010. Covers local accounts with email verification, dozens of OAuth/OIDC and SAML providers, MFA with TOTP, recovery codes and WebAuthn/passkeys, user sessions, and a headless API for SPAs and mobile apps. Very well documented and widely deployed. ★~10.4k.

## The Catch

It is large and settings-heavy, so read the configuration docs closely. Default templates are plain and you will restyle them. Django-only by design. Development and some project resources have moved toward Codeberg and allauth.org.

## Verdict

The standard way to add real accounts and social login to Django.
