## The Hook

DeepSeek Harness (`dsh`) is DeepSeek’s open agent harness: an everything-is-a-plugin architecture on Cordis, with a local Web UI via `npx @deepseek-ai/dsh web`.

## What's Good

MIT (deepseek-ai/deepseek-harness). Plugin topic `dsh-plugin`, AGENTS.md for agent contributors, docs at deepseek-harness.github.io, Discord + Discussions. Run path is npm (`npx @deepseek-ai/dsh web` → localhost:3080) or pnpm from source. Not the similarly named Harness SDK: this is DeepSeek’s plugin harness product.

## The Catch

Vs DeerFlow and OpenHands: this is a Cordis plugin-harness + Web UI from DeepSeek, not a ByteDance SuperAgent product tree or an open coding agent alone. Developer preview with explicit COMPATIBILITY-BREAKING CHANGES; SAFETY.md says no security audit, model/plugin code can damage the host — prefer a disposable VM/container. Extreme star velocity (~235k aria-label) is discovery noise, not proof.

## Verdict

MIT plugin agent harness when you want Cordis-shaped extensibility and will treat preview APIs plus SAFETY.md as real constraints.
