## The Hook

Dashy is a self-hosted homepage for your homelab: organise links to your apps, see real-time status for each, and add widgets that show data from your self-hosted services.

## What's Good

MIT (lissy93/dashy), release 4.8.0 (2026-10-09). Multiple pages, instant search with hotkeys, many themes with a color editor, workspace and minimal views, and optional multi-user auth with SSO. Config is YAML but can be edited from the UI. There is a live demo, and an optional encrypted cloud backup. ★~26.7k.

## The Catch

It overlaps heavily with Homepage; Dashy leans toward UI customisation, Homepage toward service widgets. The Vue frontend is heavier than minimal dashboards like Glance or Homer. Status checks are simple pings, not alerting.

## Verdict

Pick Dashy if you want to tweak every pixel of your dashboard from the browser.
