## The Hook

ctrlb-decompose is local log→pattern compression when you want LLM-ready templates without shipping telemetry to a SaaS pipeline.

## What's Good

MIT. Rust CLI + library + WASM. CLP-style typed normalization then Drain3 clustering in one streaming pass — raw lines become structural patterns with typed variables, DDSketch quantiles, HyperLogLog++ cardinality, anomaly flags, and severity scoring. ANSI, LLM-optimized markdown, or JSON out. Homepage/source github.com/ctrlb-hq/ctrlb-decompose; research writeup on ctrlb.ai.

## The Catch

Vs Vector (ships/transforms telemetry), SigNoz/Grafana (UIs): ctrlb-decompose is the *local pattern collapser*, not a collector and not a dashboard. You still decide what runs after the patterns (agent prompt, ticket, or your own store). Early open release — treat CLI flags and WASM embed path as moving.

## Verdict

MIT local log→pattern tool. Free forever; use when logs must stay on-box before an LLM sees them.
